I regularly visit East Boston to satisfy my need for Boston Skyline Photography at twilight. I truly love when the citylights and twilight merge as
one and an indescribable magic unfolds. This time I went to a photo location that
provides ample views of downtown and the Boston harbor but as I was a bit early
I decided to check out the potential of that particular spot. Turns out it did
not let me down. The light was gorgeous and I was able to add another Boston Skyline Panorama Photography picture to my gallery. After I captured the 10 photographs to be
stitched in the pano I turned around and realized the potential for a second
memorial shot. For years I am on the lookout for a decent picture of the Tobin
Bridge and I think I finally arrived. The Maurice J. Tobin Memorial Bridge or Mystic
River Bridge is a cantilever truss bridge that spans more than two miles from
Charlestown to Chelsea over the Mystic River in Massachusetts. The bridge is
the largest in New England and a landmark structure. The mooring poles and wall
came in really handy and I used them as a strong foreground feature. A long
exposure 20 seconds created a velvety water effect that I love. During post
processing I removed dust spots, minimally adjusted lighting, contrast and color
saturation before sharpening the final image of the Boston Tobin Bridge.
